If you’re looking for the first step in turning this dream into reality, then you have come to the right place.  Upgrade your adventures into a professional level with this PADI Divemaster program. Working closely with a PADI instructor will help expand your diving knowledge and hone your skills. Your leadership skills will be developed, and you’ll lead others as you supervise scuba diving activities and assist with diver training.

This course is a prerequisite for both the PADI Assistant Instructor and PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor certifications. Whether you want to work at a faraway dive location or a local dive shop, the adventure of a lifetime awaits you.

 

What You’ll Learn

The PADI Divemaster teaches you to be a leader who can organize, direct and take charge of dive activities. You will go through a series of knowledge development sessions, hands-on practical assessment, waterskills exercises and workshops. Some of the major topics and workshops are:

 

-Role and characteristics of a divemaster

-Supervising and assisting student divers

-Diver safety and risk management

-Divemaster conducted programs and skills

-Diving as a business and your career

-Dive environment awareness

-Dive setup and management

-Open water site mapping

-How to conduct dive briefings

-Organizing a search and recovery

-Organizing a deep dive

-Assisting leading diving programs

 

What You Can Teach

After completing the course, as a certified Divemaster you will be authorized to:

 

-Plan, organize, direct and supervise dives both training and non-training

-Assist PADI instructors during PADI Diver course training sessions

-Conduct the PADI Discover Snorkling program

-Conduct the PADI Skin Diver course

-Conduct the PADI Scuba Review program

-Conduct the PADI Discover Local Diving experience

-Conduct the PADI Discover Scuba Diving program independently (requires Discover Scuba Diving Leader qualification)

-Conduct the PADI Seal Team Skin Diver Specialist Aqua Mission

-Conduct subsequent dives under indirect supervision of instructor for Discover Scuba Diving participants after their completion of the first dive with a PADI instructor

-Teach the PADI Digital Underwater Photographer specialty (requires PADI Digital Underwater Photographer Specialty Instructor rating)

-Guide students on the tour portion of Open Water Diver course Training Dives 2, 3, and 4 independently at a ratio of two student divers per certified divemaster.

-Accompany Open Water Diver students under indirect supervision of instructor

-Accompany students during Adventure Dives and Specialist training dives under indirect supervision of instructor

-Teach Emergency First Response courses (requires Emergency First Response course completion)

Prerequisites

The requirements for taking the PADI Divemaster Course are:

 

-You must be 18 years old or above

-A PADI Advanced Open Water Diver certification (or qualification from another training organization)

-A PADI Rescue Diver certification (or qualification from another training organization)

-An Emergency First Response Primary and Secondary Care course completion within the past 24 months (or qualification for first aid and CPR training program from another organization)

-At least 20 dives to begin the course

-At least 60 dives for certification

-A medical Statement (PDF) signed by a physician within the last 12 months stating that you are physically fit to dive
